More stability, more happy listeners

Qmusic, the largest radio station in the Netherlands and Belgium, has relied on our support for audio streaming since 2006. With their growing popularity, Qmusic approached us to develop a new streaming platform based on the IceCast protocol. We teamed up with AdSwizz on the project to create a stable radio streaming platform with perfect performance and higher ad revenue.

Non-stop stabilityQmusic's original streaming infrastructure was showing signs of aging, leading to buffering problems, dropped connections, and sudden listener drop-offs. The new platform we developed ensures stability, both now and in the future, even as the station's audience continues to expand. We also guide Qmusic in selecting the most suitable connection lines, directly linking them to our data center to maintain optimal platform performance at all times.
Silence detection and monitoringNow that we manage Qmusic's audio streams, we bear full responsibility for their availability, stability, and performance. After encoding in the studio, the data is sent directly to our data center. We monitor the availability of the streams around the clock, every day of the year, along with continuous silence detection. If there’s any loss of connection or sound, we fix it immediately.
Ad injectionWe've achieved full automation of ad injection for Qmusic by integrating AdSwizz's Audio Injector for Servers (AIS). While the primary aim was to enhance the streaming platform's stability for a better listener experience, these technical enhancements also provide the opportunity for increased and more predictable ad revenue.
