It all began with the development of a innovative OTT streaming platform a decade ago. Now, NewsON offers live and on-demand content on all screens in the United States.

NewsON delivers instant access to live and on-demand newscasts from 285+ trusted local TV station partners across 165+ markets on a single platform. We joined forces with NewsON when this platform was still in its conceptual stage. Today, the service is accessible on CTV, mobile, and the web.

Since its web launch in 2015, we have managed the backend, overseeing all channels and streaming. In the NewsON applications, viewers can personalize their experience by selecting their favorite stations, and watch breaking news coverage of major events and storms from multiple local stations. Subsequently, we have onboarded numerous new channels and consistently improved the backend functionalities.

Expanding to mobile

In 2023, we successfully secured the project to develop NewsON’s mobile applications, with a strong focus on data-driven development as a core strategy for expanding the user base and enhancing user interactivity.

We designed a React Native app, introducing new features such as the trending station map, as well as commenting and polling functions available in two app sections. Additionally, we added a sports channel and the What’sON feature, enabling NewsON’s editors to share their own local clips. All platforms are supported by advertising and offer both live and on-demand content.

NewsON is available for download across a wide range of platforms, including Roku streaming players, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Samsung Smart TV, iOS, and Android mobile devices. As a digital partner, we are also responsible for ongoing development over the coming years.
